India has fast-tracked the Rs 5,129 crore Sawalkot Hydroelectric Project tender by NHPC for a 1,856 MW run-of-river dam on the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district, following the 2025 suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty after the Pahalgam terror attack.
